Logo Design Brief

We want a logo design for a small startup company in Oklahoma. We want to do business based on relationships not on advertising. Together my father brother and I have 75 years experience in residential and commercial construction. And we have fifteen years experience working together as a team.We prefer the colors black and red in the logo, but are open to the decisions of the designer. We want the final design to give our business a unique brand appeal and communicate experience, confidence, competence, innovation and enduring relationships and growth. We plan on serving the specialty needs for family home owners and large commercial institutions with a broad range of service for the challenging needs of our clients. Ideally the logo will illustrate relationship, process and value for the human experience. The pictures that come to mind for me are the efforts of a team planning, creating and producing something with shared successes and failures as well as goals and value for the outcome as well as the process.

Target Market(s)

Large purchase home improvement customers and commercial retail and other commercial building upgrades and improvements. Also new commercial construction contracts for specialty installations and services of an exceptional challenge and finite time frame. Important note is that Blackstone Services LLC has several business markets including education and consulting contract services, therefore the logo must appeal to a broad professional market and not only to construction. We also serve healthcare, educational, industrial, hospitality and such organizations as a consulting and training provider for occupational safety and health as well as emergency medical services education. We also serve the needs of human relations consulting regarding leadership, management, and team process and experience development.

Must have

• Indications of a professional organization with structure and principles and also service minded to adapting and responding to challenging customer needs. Process theme such as creation, planning producing illustrations. Human relations theme such as emotionally impacting colors, text and/or images.

Nice to have

• Logo that lends perspective to a small team business with personal relationships as a priority. Value words that describe principles and character such as Integrity, trust, loyalty, honesty. I would prefer that these values were emphatically implied by the logo image rather than emphatically stated. I know that can seem very subjective but I am asking for a designers creation of what is generally perceived by people with such subjective representations of values in objects with such symbols and meanings. Additionally I want to ask that the designer create symbols and meanings that are in the blend of tradition symbols and meanings with new creations of symbols and meanings to produce an exceptional logo that appeals to a minority of people valuing that innovation, creation and meaning as well as a majority of people that value the traditional meaning of the symbol. Thank you.

Should not have

• Simple symbols and images with no meaning or superficial meaning such as figures of basic carpentry tools, presentation tools, teaching tools and such.
