Logo Design Brief

Culture, Arts & Music (CAM) is a 501c3 charity that focuses on sharing world cultures. Our current primary focus is on music but we will be expanding into food, dance, visual art and other forms of world cultures in the future. We are open to color suggestions. We need a logo that will work great on the web, but also something that can be simplified and printed in black/white for letter heads and other simple uses. Final logo should communicate professionalism, diversity, and unity. Incorporating some sort of music idea is not required but since our current primary focus is music it may be good to see some ideas with minor music hints.
Our slogan is Discover Diversity and you can see more information at cultureartsmusic.org (including our current logo that I don't like).

After seeing design submissions, I have realizes that having some sort of steelpan design element is essential. The steelpan is what makes us unique and has gotten us to where we are today, so this can't be neglected.

Requirements

Must have

• Must show the idea of bringing together world cultures. Must be professional looking. Communicate the broad ideas of diversity, unity and culture. Must incorporate some sort of steelpan design element.

Nice to have

• Our current primary focus is on music (specifically from Trinidad) so having some subtle tie to that would be cool. I am a big fan of "hidden" concepts that require people to really look to see it, but then becomes obvious afterwards.

Should not have

• Any cartoonish or non professional looking aspects.
