I have started a new computer services business called Techie-Man. It's based in Melbourne, Australia. The business is about providing computer and technology services. I repair computers, provide domain and email services, fix networking problems, you get the gist: When someone has computer trouble or needs help, they call me.
It's a one man business as of now and I am looking for a logo that's very personable, if that's even a word :-) Not too much corporate.
Many a times, I am working on the client's site and I will be wearing a uniform with my logo/business name on it. Hence the need for the logo to look very very appealing and attractive.
If the name is the logo in itself, that's fine too. Techie-Man. If you want to create a logo to go with it, that's ok too. Show me what you got.
Also, I dont mind a superhero theme. I chose the name based on Spider-Man. Cos I am a geek like Spider-Man and he is my fav superhero :-) My business tag line is also similar: Your friendly neighbourhood techie-man. But if you feel the superhero theme would be lame or corny, by all means come up with something else.
So please keep the above in mind and show me some awesome designs. I am very fussy and picky and very very design oriented. That's why I like Apple, Sony and similar companies that strive for design and service.
Looking forward to seeing cool stuff. I have a lot of projects for myself and my clients and the winner will get that as well, directly. So keep that in mind and please do make me a letterhead, business card and shirt design too. I would return the favour by getting my clients to contact you for their design works.
Oh, and I like the Ubuntu font and will be using that in all my communications, web and ad copy, etc. So I dont know if this info helps or not. Just putting it out there.
My current website is at www.techieman.com.au
Have a look to get an insight into what kind of designs and colours and patterns I like. Again, I am open to anything, so please do not go strictly by my website. It was built using a template anyway. All I did was change the font to Ubuntu. But looking at the arrangement of text and pictures, you will see I like symmetry and order. Again, I am not too anal about that and would like to see some abstract or chaotic forms too...
Updates
Hi Designers. I am beginning to feel the suggestion of a super-hero theme was a bad idea. It was just a suggestion, not a requirement. Almost all designs have been submitted with some character figure. By all means, please do that, I wont reject it. But also, please submit an alternate design without the character just to give me another perspective. Many thanks for your submissions.

My Advertising and Marketing guru has suggested a logo with binary overtones (Binary Code). And another optional logo with the power button. Either the power button sitting by itself, left, right, above or below Techie-Man OR TECHIE in vertical and MAN on the curve.

If you're going to put some tools, please do not use a spanner. A screwdriver and keyboard will do. Cheers
