Logo Design Brief

Hello,

I need a logo for my wine Importing company: Lyon & Eastern Wine Merchants. The company is an importer of quality terroir based wines from around the world.

Required in the Logo:
1. The name of the company
2. A lion weather vane

Concept ideas/options
1. The company name can be either:
a. Lyon & Eastern Wine Merchants
b. Lyon + Eastern Wine Merchants
2. The lion weather vane can either be old world/coat of arms style or a new world rendition. I'm open to both because I have not decided which style I like more.
3. It would be great if a rolling vineyard or hillside could be incorporated into the logo but it is not a requirement. I would prefer the logo be fairly simple and do not want it to be convoluted or messy.
4. I'm open to options on font type, style, colors and layout. however, I think I generally like logos on the left and font on the right ( if that makes sense).
a. As for colors I like greens, blues and reds. Greens for the vineyard, Blue for seas and water and reds for wine. I do not want all three combined but I think i would prefer a single color logo - I'm just not sure which will look the best.
5. I would like the overall impression of the logo to have an old merchant, cultured, refined world traveler feel but not too stuffy or highbrow.
