Logo Design Brief

I need a logo design for my company based in Melbourne, Victoria (Australia) called 'Santa Ana Consulting'. Santa Ana being named after town in El Salvador where I was born. I currently contract as a mechanical engineer, however may at a later stage use the company name do other (non mechanical engineering) business also - therefore, I want the logo to be somewhat generic and not solely mechanical engineering-focused. I like the colour blue so if this could be incorporated into the design, that would be good. I am open to design styles - i.e. full company name 'Santa Ana Consulting' or abbreviations, and/or interesting picture/symbol that represents my company. The final design should be clean, simple and communicate professionalism.
