Signage Design Brief
A new company needs their van and trailer designed.
The company is called "Accredited Restorations". They are a sister company to "Accredited Cleaning and Pest Solutions".
I've attached some material for you to use and inspiration.
The van is a Ford Transit Jumbo High Roof LWB 2014 Model. This means it is huge, it's tall and long. I have an Illustrator file for you to use to design the van, which is layered and contains the sides, back, front and top views of the van.
I've also included some sample photos that a previous designer worked on for my client and it is really ugly and simplistic.
The van is white so the main colours to use are white, black, and red. Just like the logo.
The contact details they want on the van are "Accredited Restorations", "accreditedrestorations.com.au" and "1300 123 456" which is the phone number. The phone number will be changed at a later date once my client has finalised which number they are using, but it is staying within the same format and will need to be easy to edit in the file later, so don't create outlines of the phone number, leave it as text.
I envision that on the front of the van you would use the logo and either the phone number or website address, but probably not both. The back of the van can use all the contact details.
The sides of the van would of course have all the contact details but also list three of their services; "FIRE", "WATER", "MOULD", because they do fire damage restoration, water damage restoration, and mould removal/remediation.
What my client would like is to use the colour ORANGE for FIRE, BLUE for WATER, GREEN for MOULD. I want to keep the wording on the van to a minimum so you can basically use the words FIRE, WATER, MOULD, and "24 HOUR WATER DAMAGE SPECIALISTS".
You can use some simple flat style icons for the services, I've attached a specific icon for the mould services, which looks like germs or bacteria. I would like something similar for fire and water.
We'd like the roof top of the van to be designed as well, please remember that as you are designing.
Design elements for the van? My client likes waves, and ribbon style patterns, so something like that would be great, perhaps a ribbon for each of the services. It's important to make sure that the red colour of the logo is still the dominant colour on the van so that the orange, blue and green don't take up too much of the van.
What about the trailer? Well this one is easier and harder. The easy thing is that the trailer is basically a rectangular box, we've got the measurements of being 2 metres wide, 1.5 metres high, and 5.4 metres in length. You can see more details of the exact trailer here: http://www.proalloytrailers.com.au/products.php?prod_id=13
We would like the trailer to be a continuation of the van, so when both the van and trailer are connected they look like they were designed to be together. However if the trailer is disconnected the van will look great by itself.
This means that the back of the trailer would probably look a lot like the back of the van so that the same contact details are displayed. The side of the trailers would carry the design elements from the van across it and also still have the logo and contact details displayed.
The problem with the trailer? We don't have a file pre-made with the sides, front, top, and back views. I've got a number of photos that the client has taken, along with the website I've supplied above which has all the technical details.
