Logo Design Brief
I am in need of logo design for a new winery I am launching in the next 8 months. I will be making small batches of artisan wine - a true micro winery - in Portland, Oregon, using grapes sourced primarily from a premium growing region in Washington state. My wines will be expressions of the grape varietal themselves and the individual conditions of the growing season the grapes experienced. As such, I seek to make minimal inputs to the wine to showcase the nuances of each season.
I want to market our wines as premium brand wines but also show our customers that we don’t take ourselves too seriously and make our brand approachable to a wide range of wine consumers. The logo itself will need to incorporate the winery name, RAM Cellars, into it. Additionally, utilizing an actual Ram (big horn sheep) into the logo makes a lot of sense. RAM is a set of family initials (belonging to myself and to my grandfather) which made it a natural choice. Tying a Ram into the logo should help to make it more approachable to consumers.
In the case of the RAM Cellars logo, here are the concepts I am trying to convey: Strength, skill, intrigue, quality, relatability. I would like the logo to convey the brand as artisanal winemaking for everyone. In terms of color scheme ideas, burgundy, gray, brown (possibly - think earthtones) BUT, this is really pretty open to interpretation, the importance is placed on the logo itself, not the color scheme it is in...
I will attach some photos of Rams that I have come across that piqued my interest, but they are just here to give a bit of a frame of reference.
Thanks for taking the time to review the project, and don't hesitate to contact me if any clarification is needed!
