Logo Design Brief

We need a logo that will be used in email communications, on posters, on web pages and on user guides, training materials, and tutorial videos. An outside company is hosting this vendor portal for us, but we are branding it as Toyota Business Exchange. Sometimes we refer to it as the Toyota Business Exchange portal, but Toyota Business Exchange is the official name. This project is for the Finance organization. Suppliers have been invoicing us in manual ways, with only a few sending them to us electronically. So this represents a big change in the way we do business with them, a big leap forward technologically -- we've actually been behind the times with this upgrade. Suppliers will have 24/7 visibility to P.O.s and the status of their invoices, and will also have options for early payment of invoices in exchanges for invoice discounts. Some adjectives for the project could be efficiency, effectiveness, access, transparency to information, speed, ease of use.

We would like to use the Toyota red, and probably black or gray, but we are open to other colors. The logo should be clean, modern, sharp, crisp, not complex or fancy or too many colors. Since this is for internal Toyota use, we are not as restricted as we might be if this were going out to the public. Safest would be to use the Toyota logo in it's usual font (not the symbol, just the word) while giving the other two words some other complimentary treatment. I've attached the Brand Standards Guide to show the things we CAN'T do.

When we abbreviate Toyota Business Exchange, we write TBX. It would be okay to include that in logo too but not necessary.

Must have

• The word Toyota must be represented per brand standards (see attached brand standards guide)

Nice to have

• Modern, clean, crisp

Should not have

• not too many colors, not super complex or fancy. Cannot use the iconic Toyota logo (the ovals). Cannot distort the type, such as curving it around a circle or anything like that. Even though this project has a very specific and small audience, this design will have to go through our legal folks. To be safe, it's best to represent the Toyota name in its standard font and format. Sorry to limit ya'll that way, but our standards are pretty strict.
