Book cover and author brand for series of two contemporary novels set in New Zealand

Hi,

I am starting to work on your project. However, I have a few questions. Is the image you have in your mind as slightly luminous, perhaps even depressing (due to the background images you have chosen) or a rather playful, colourful cover?

And by any chance, is one book more serious (blue tones) than the other book?

Thank you.

Hi there,
thank you for your question.
I'm not after a playful cover as such, but there should still be a feel of positivity to it. So a potential reader might look at the cover and think "oh, these characters go through a hard time, but in the end, not all is lost".
I hope that makes sense.
The second book is probably more serious than the first.
Also, I accidently uploaded the wrong picture of one of the girls, but have changed that now in the brief.
I look forward to receiving your designs.
Kind regards,
Annie

Knowing books dimensions could be very helpful!

Hi everyone,
thank you for all your designs - I have been overwhelmed by fantastic work and choosing one will be very hard.
Re dimensions - for now just the standard 6"x 9" until I have the exact format due to "Teaching Tom" not being finished yet.

Also please note following requirements for kindle upload (this is from the Amazon website):
Requirements for the size of your cover art must have an ideal height/width ratio of at least 8:5 (1.6), meaning:
• A minimum of 625 pixels on the shortest side and 1000 pixels on the longest side
• For best quality, your image should be 2500 pixels on the longest side

Product images display on the Amazon website using the RGB (red, green, blue) color mode or profile. RGB is the color mode native to the web and many color screen displays, as these three colors displayed at varying levels of intensity create over 16 million colors. When saving and uploading your cover image file, save your file ONLY as RGB - not CMYK or sRGB- for the color profile.

Two important details about the characters' photos:
- Tori's eyes are green in the novel so will have to be adapted.
- Tom looks a bit too young....He's thirty-three in the novel so might need 'aging'.

No need to rush out and make those changes now, it will be soon enough once I select a final design to work with that particular designer.

Thank you again for your great work.
Annie

thank you for inviting me to work, I would like a small resumé 2 émé book ''Teaching Tom''

Hi everyone,
someone has asked me for a synopsis of "Teaching Tom", so here it is for everyone to read. This is by no means a final version, but should give people an idea what the book is about:

Tom has everything he'd ever wanted- a loving family, a stimulating job and, most importantly, Tori, the love of his life. Two years after conquering her heart, he still has to pinch himself regularly to check if this is just a dream too good to be true.

But when tragedy strikes, the dream soon turns into a nightmare that Tom has mainly brought on himself. Ravaged by grief and guilt, he desperately tries to reach out for the one he loves the most , but she is fighting her own demons, finding out painful truths about her beloved late mother that make her own decisions so much harder to follow through.

As Tom finally accepts the decisions he’s made, once again looking into a bright future, Tori finds out that there’s no black or white in life and love, only grey. But is she prepared to settle for grey?
