Logo Design Brief
The People Project
We are creating a progressive and visionary project – called ‘The People Project’ - which aims to pull together and create one unified vision to regenerate and revitalise a small island community. We need to create a brand which gives a message of positivity, patriotism, dreams and aspirations for a better future.
The People Project will be realised on an island called Alderney, which is in the Channel Islands, situated just off France and yet part of Great Britain. Alderney is just 3 miles long by 1.5 miles wide and has only 2000 residents. It is a very natural space with plenty of raw, rugged countryside and beautiful beaches. However, currently there is large-scale dissatisfaction and political unrest on an island which should be – and could be - a paradise. This is born though a lack of political engagement with the people.
The People Project aims to give the people of Alderney the chance of a true democracy for the first time in their history, allowing them to vote electronically on every key issue affecting the island. Action will only be taken after the voting has been completed in order for the population to choose the course of their future. The long-term aim of The People Project is to build a united political party to focus on the aligned wishes of the people and radically alter the future of the island for the better.
The main initiatives The People Project is working on are:
Bring the PEOPLE of Alderney together
Bring new PEOPLE to invest in Alderney and move there as residents
Encourage more PEOPLE to see Alderney as a tourist destination
Empower the local PEOPLE to make positive change themselves
Regenerate the town with artistic and creative PEOPLE and enterprises
Build a better future for the PEOPLE of the island

Requirements
Must have
- Must be strong visually and be able to work in black and white incase we need to put it into the local newspaper.
- Making the word 'people' slightly bolder would be a good idea as this is all about the people of Alderney.
- Sans serif fonts are generally better as the look more fresh and modern.
- Graphic and words that integrate well together. Sometimes the graphic is plonked at the side or top and does not seem to work well as a team.
- Down to earth, not too flowery.
- Fresh strong colours, no gradients or fades.
Nice to have
- Something positive, a sense of hope. Dynamism.
- I like this website design - not necessarily copying the logo at all but the website itself feels strong, dynamic, interesting and fresh.
Should not have
- Should not be cheesy, tacky, too local. Does not need to use the Alderney map or flag necessarily as this might look a bit twee and has been used so many times before.
