T-shirt Design Brief

Come up with a t-shirt design for our brand: Old Guys Still Rock!

Growing old doesn’t mean you’re past it.

We have worked hard and made a success of our lives. But we are still young at heart. We may look 40 or 50 and a little "vintage" on the outside but inside we are still 17 years old!

We love rock music. After all, most of the bands who fill stadiums are now in their 40’s, 50’s and 60’s.

Old Guys Still Rock isn't just about music - it's also about style and attitude. Sexy is always nice!

After all, you are in your prime from 40 to 65.

If you need proof Old Guys Still Rock then watch CSI Miami where 56 year old David Caruso who plays detective Horatio Caine puts on his sunglasses at the end of an episode. That’s style!
And remember:
Liam Gallagher of Oasis is now 40
James Bond actor Daniel Craig is 44
Steve Jobs was 52 when he introduced us to the iPhone that has the younger generation camping out all night to buy the latest version.
Bruce Willis is 58 and has just finished filming his latest Die Hard movie.
Mark Harmon who plays Special Agent Gibbs in NCIS is 61.
And Sir Richard Branson, chairman of the Virgin Group is 62.

So can YOU come up with a t-shirt design for this market? Can you use your talent to create something special? Is this a project you will enjoy working on?

I have given some examples of what I like in the images you can view.

Good typography (if the design calls for it) is essential.

The design does NOT need to include our logo.

The designs don’t need to include guitars or be music related if you have a different approach or idea.

Requirements

Must have

• The design should be a nice clean and easy to read – I LOVE outstanding typography – it needs to be fun, simple and a little trendy. It also needs to work on a variety of different color t-shirts and clothing.
  
  The logo should work in both small and large sizes. For example – look good on a coffee mug as clearly as covering a t-shirt.
  
  PLEASE KEEP ALL THE WORDS ABOUT THE SAME SIZE. I have had several designs with the word "Rock" much bigger than the other words. I prefer them all to be roughly the same size. Or use our logo.
  
  The design must appeal to our target market.
  
  I do NOT want a clone of the brand “Old Guys Rule”. However, it shows how effective a clear simple text logo can be. Ours should be a bit more rock’n’roll, but something that befits a premium brand.
  
  Anything from one color up to full color.
  
  If you are going to submit multiple designs please make them different styles. And no more than 6 designs in total please.
  
  Nothing too far out. And please ensure all work is original. Let’s keep it fun and upbeat.
  
  We’ll try our very best to add comments as quickly as possible and also give good honest feedback and help you every step of the way.
  
  We are serious but we also like to rock!
  
  Finished files in either Illustrator or Photoshop PLUS high quality JPEGS all to studio quality.

Nice to have

• A design that will look good on various colors of t-shirts - not just white or black. But mainly light colors.
