Logo Design Brief
Hey everyone!
We are on the search for a new and better logo for our website at www.myFoodMap.org! You can forget the old one, we want your fresh creativity for a totally new one. So what is myFoodMap and what should the logo imply?
myFoodMap is a comprehensive and user-friendly guide to find allergy-friendly products in supermarkets all across Germany (it will include allergy-friendly restaurants too, but our focus is on products in supermarkets). In our database, there are already 30,000 products with a lot of information about allergens and ingredients included in various food products. Further, these products are also rated by people, our users. Basically our motto is, by people with food allergies, for people with food allergies.
So that’s about it! We look forward to seeing what you all come up with and choosing our new myFoodMap logo!
Updates
Some general information about the designs we got so far: It seems like our introductory text was a bit misleading by saying: “First off, people with food allergies do not want to be labeled as sick. They want delicious, suitable products without being reminded that they cannot eat everything that they would like to eat”.We think that this is the reason why everyone submitted something showing food or a pin (which is totally cool, we really like it!) but no one came up with an idea showing something like labelling food or checking the ingredient list. That might be another idea for a logo because we do not only show where to find a supermarket, but which products you can buy there when you are already inside the store. We have a gigantic food database which tells users if the product is suitable for their dietary needs and helps making purchasing decisions. If you have an idea we look forward to receiving further proposals. Requirements
Must have
- - First off, people with food allergies do not want to be labeled as sick. They want delicious, suitable products without being reminded that they cannot eat everything that they would like to eat. So the bottom line is, that the logo should not look like we are some dry pharmaceutical company but at the same time it should not be too fancy.
- -Since we are also planning on launching a mobile-app, we would want a logo that is also able to be a the logo in our an app icon.
Nice to have
- Update: So far everyone who submitted something made a logo showing food or a pin (which is totally cool, we really like it!). No one came up with an idea showing something like food labelling or checking ingredient lists. That might be an other idea for a logo design because we do not only show users where to find a supermarket, but which products they can buy there when they are already inside a store. We have a gigantic food database which tells users which product is suitable for their dietary needs and helps them making purchasing decisions.
Should not have
- Since we want to give you the freedom to be as creative as possible, we don’t want to restrict you by giving any technical guidelines, such as, what size, color, shape or type of font should be used in our new and improved logo!
- Also, the logo should NOT consist of one certain product like an apple, a pizza or milk. Because whatever food you would choose, some of our users will be allergic to it.
- However, we would like to give out some hints about the direction we want to go with the logo! You find them in the "must have"-section.
