Graphic Design Brief

Dirty Girls Consulting is a coaching and consulting firm that helps women work through transition in all areas of their lives - marriage and divorce, job promotions and management, health and wellness, sexuality and power - to create their best, happiest lives. We believe that life is messy - women are constantly trying to juggle multiple projects and tasks, we are always negotiating with our husbands and lovers, our kids, our bosses and employees and ourselves, and life is always moving and changing around us. We help women of all ages cut through the mess and focus on what's really important to them in order to enjoy the journey - and the mess - that is life.

Our web site is under development and we would like some unique illustrations to represent our personality. Dirty Girls Consulting is a team - Natalie and Shirley - along with our network of contacts and honorary "dirty girls" we bring in to support women with their various challenges. We are direct but tactful. We help women uncover their strengths and their own personal power. We like to have fun. We believe in living your life, not letting it drag you along through the undertow. We believe we all have the power to enjoy our lives, even the messy parts, when we have faith in who we are and what gifts we bring to the world.

We'd like the illustrations to focus on women, in activities that give them happiness and power (out with friends, spending time by themselves, listening to music or exercising, at work). The name Dirty Girls was established because one of the things Shirley and I do to relax and have fun is run obstacle course races, where you get very muddy and dirty! But also work your body hard and accomplish challenging physical goals.

We'd like to develop a set of images - four or five that we can use on our site - but will start with this first one. Once we find a design/style we like, we will continue to work with you to develop the additional images we need. We'd like to start with an image for our home page - a banner image, essentially (see www.dirtygirlsconsulting.com) that will represent us and be the first thing our clients see.

I am attaching our logo, so you can see the one element we are committed to working with. You can go to our website, www.dirtygirlsconsulting.com, to see how it's under development and to see our blog page. I am also attaching a couple photos of myself and my partner Shirley, which you may use our likeness in your illustrations. I am also attaching a couple of illustrative images we kind of like - but we're not saying your work has to look like this. It's just to provide a little style guidance.

We do not want anything too "cartoon" looking. We're a professional firm and want to look professional but at the same time offer an accessible, fun style that encourages women to open up to us, to trust us and know we understand just how messy life is and we can help them negotiate it.
