A very interesting brief, but why not put the money your burning to good use and purchase something for the needed? Burning it seems to solve nothing, yes maybe money has a hold on us but that ultimately depends on your outlook on life, and whether you work to live or live to work, burning your efforts away seems in a sense, selfish. Sorry, I'm struggling with the general outlook of your brief, and felt compelled to comment.

Hey Booosh. Your comment is welcome. This probably isn't the place to get into a whole discussion about 'why don't you give it to charity'. That'll be about half the book I'm writing. Let me see if I can explain in a couple of sentences. I think that charity works to maintain existing power structures. People imagine its the opposite of capitalism, but its not really. It sustains it. Money burning is subversive. It breaks those power structures in a symbolic way and within individual consciousness. I don't see it as selfish at all. In fact when I do it it feels like a fundamentally moral action.

There's a few posts on this on my blog. If you type 'jonone100' into google along with 'Horse Hospital' that should take you to a post I did about a burning where a guy was shouting out 'What about the children in Syria?'. These are powerful, emotive arguments that I can't do justice to here.

Hope this helps explain a little. Questions are very welcome.
