Be open minded. I want to design a specialty T-Shirt that looks interesting and also informs Americans who they are ,no matter ancient origins, about how lucky we are to be part of a civilization, although peppered with bad things, has been a power house of good for the world..
Obviously, I need help with this project. I was thinking that I would use a faded backround image of the Cathedral at Chatres , France on the back and an other image in the front that is American like the U.S. Capital.
I also like the Acropolis in Athens where this all started. On top of these faded images I would have would like "Freedom of Speech", the "Magna Carta", the "Declaration of the Rights of Man", (France, 1789 ) so as not to favor only the US although that is difficult.
I would also either on the back or front a few important names from Aristotle, Dr. Salk, Winston Churchill just as illustrations. I know I am up against profound ignorance, brainless teachers, dancing with the stars, ESPN and our "leaders", However its worth a try.
By the way I will put together a cheat sheet that would be available online explaining what' s on the T-shirt. I hope you can help me ,even though you might think other civilizations contributed more to humanity than this one. Another test of freedom of speech and tolerance of the views of others. I am 64 years old ,and a graduate of the University of Chicago. In those days there was at least chances of learning something. lol.
