Logo Design Brief

I have attached the current logo which is dated and not so modernized. My husband loves this logo (as he designed it himself), but I want to freshen our brand. We own a custom cabinet making company that works 80% with high end residental customers, either directly or through designers, developers and architech. 20% of our business is with the commercial sector. I am not adverse to moving away from yellow and black, but would prefer to keep the logo 2 colours. I want a modern more high end feel to our new logo.
