Great brief, unfortunately you are seriously undervaluing the time it would take to complete this to a professional level.

Thanks for your comment. What would be a reasonably time? We are aware that finishing hyper realistic illustrations would take more than 5 days full-time per illustration, that's why we are open to accept any style. Brainstorming right now, it could be line-art with a parchment texture underneath. Or sketch-like with some color. Maybe neat design colored with solid colors (no shading) on each element like an entirely red dragon (horns and scales) and the warrior in yellow (equipment and skin) and the commoners in blue (clothes and skin). We are firmly convinced that, as creators, we must find the way to solve every need with wit and the resources that we get. ;)

We are more than open to view sketches (which could take a couple of hours to create) and give some feedback about them including ideas that could work specifically on each design.

As long as the lines are followed and the overall feel remains EPIC, instead of childish, cartoonish or else, submitted designs have very good chances of getting our approval.

Absolutely! The workflow can be like that. In fact it is better for everyone, for you and for us. We find conflicting to have to choose just one winner after many designers spend their time on this vast project. We understand it is a contest and it works that way. But these premises lead us to your second point; my team is currently discussing with the company if the budget for this area of the project can rise. Depending on the amount of the submitted designs that are approved, we will evaluate if we raise the payment for the 1st place or if we enable a 2nd and 3rd place payment instead. I hope any of this solutions work for you.

If you decide to keep going with a design, feel free to send us a sketch first. Expect feedback. Then you can proceed to detail the illustration and we will examine your work. Again, the type of payment increase will depend on the overall competitiveness between designs from every illustrator.

Thanks for the invitation, unfortunately the situation for me is purely a time vs reward issue. I'm afraid it's just not financially viable for me to take on a project such as yours when the time it would take for me to complete to a high level, far exceeds the financial return by so much.
