Card Design Brief
We are looking for back and front designs for a non-standard deck of playing cards of standard poker size (2.5" X 3.5"). A single back design and front designs in two layout types described below.
We are looking for work in the general style of William Morris; an arts and crafts look and maybe a little art nouveau. We have an old fashioned games revival brand that this deck should help reinforce.
The "point card" layout consists of a point value, 1 - 9, a rank of 1 to 4 bars, balls, leaves or another indicator of rank and a brief text description of the card's special effect. There will be 4 of each point value and description with ranks 1 through 4 indicated as you envision, but consistently throughout the deck.
The "non-point card" layout will have a graphical indication of its type and a brief text description of the card's special effect. There will be 4 each of 4 types of these.
The attached PDF provides an example of the point card and non-point card layouts as well as a listing of the card types and the rules of the game.

Requirements
Must have
- Required deliverables:
- - Back of cards design, 1 image
- - Face design for "point card" layout for each of the 4 ranks (in the attached example rank is indicated by the number bars to the right of the card's point value), 4 images
- - Face design for each of the 4 non-point card types, 4 images
- Can accept a variety of file formats, rater images should be 600 DPI in a lossless format.
Nice to have
- For the non-point cards (named W, X, Y, Z on the rules card) something similar to the French cards of Jack, Queen, King, but distinct from them (and having a fourth) could work nicely, but this is open to your creative vision. Likewise, you need not use bars to indicate ranks for the point cards if your have a vision for another way to indicate rank which better fits your design.
Should not have
- Please do not include the special effect text from the rules on their cards as they are still under revision.
