Hello there!,
In order to create a fully original logo design that could represent your main company ideas and philosophy, I need your help to understand the specific requirements of your business. Your business is unique, your requirements are unique, and thus, your logo design should be unique
For example:

- What is the message you want in the viewer's mind when watching the logo?

- Why is your bar the best at what it does?
(Efficient? Serious and professional? Innovative in something particular? Has a distinguished strength? )

- How does the bar looks like?
(Tabern look?, modern look?)

- Do you have a preferred logo symbol?
(Geometric or abstract symbols? Specific images related to your business sector? A symbol related to your company philosophy? A composition based on your company name initials?)

- Should I avoid any topic symbol?
Identify and avoid topic or cliché symbols, overused in your business sector, that may lead to a confusing corporate identity.

- The name "Taplands" has to be included or not?

Thanks for your time, it is of vital importance to pursue a real professional logo four your business.

Looking forward to your comments

Thank you for your query Espacio Sinapsis!  You are the first to take some initiative to ask questions. And they ARE good questions!

The bar/business is still in conceptual stages, so a true look and feel of the actual locale is not available.  Conceptually, it will be a modern take on a brew-pub.  A bit brighter than your average wood and brass tavern and certainly more modern.  We are hoping to have a gallery-cafe feel when we are finished.
The message we want to convey is one of exploration & discovery.  We want people to feel they can come here for their favorite beer, but also bring a friend who might not know so much about beer and discover in a non-intimidating environment. This is not a bar to meet women or plan a bachelor party.  We want it to feel more like a winery tasting room - again, discovery of what you enjoy!
We do not have a preferred logo symbol or geometry BUT we would like it to translate to a label at some point.  We know we DON''T want a banner-too clip-art looking.  it seems that 99% of what we have received so far has been work on typography design.  We are not looking for the word to be the logo.  With that said the word "Taplands" MAY be used but it does not have to.  Ideally the image portion could stand alone and the name added for labels and signage.
Imagery to explore would be within the concept of "a landscape of beer (flavors) to explore/discover".
I do hope this is helpful.  By all means let me know if I am not clear in my answers.
And Thank You again for inquiring.
Matt
