Logo Design Brief
Contendo (under construction at www.contendo.co) will be an online service for organizing and scoring competitions like youth recreational sports leagues, chess clubs, dance competitions, and the like.
Initially the Contendo service will be provided through the web site, and there are plans to add mobile applications in the future. Contendo is US-based. If successful, the service may eventually expand internationally.
The proof-of-concept site is being developed to organize and score local chess clubs. BUT, the vision for Contendo is _not_ limited to chess clubs.
We tentatively would like to capture the idea of "competition" in the logo design, but that is not essential. We also have a tentative color scheme under consideration for the site which you can preview (https://www.contendo.co/?page=color_scheme). Mostly shades of green and blue with some soft-yellow for backgrounds.
If you visit the under-construction site you will notice a hideous logo we hacked together in-house. :) The laurel wreath has historically been a symbol of competitions and victory...Your submissions may play off that idea or discard it as you see fit!

Project Deadline Extended
Reason: We are extending the deadline one day so we have a full business day (US CDT) on Monday (Mar 25) for a final round of pre-decision discussions with the designer/finalists.

- Must convey a sense of professionalism. Must also have at least one variant which is suitable for submission to US Patent and Trademark office for trademark purposes.
Nice to have
- Logo tag-line ("organizing and scoring your competitions" or "scoring and organizing your competitions") is purely optional. The longer tag line may be included in a "big" version of the logo. If there are two logo sizes (i.e., big and small), the smaller logo should omit the tag line.
