Designer Portfolio Help

Why are my designs under review?

All members of the DesignCrowd community are eligible to undergo a Quality Review. If you have received an email from our team, it simply means your designs are being reviewed to ensure they meet DesignCrowd's quality standards.

Please ensure you have read DesignCrowd's Design Quality Standards. You can find helpful articles about all aspects of the submission process on the blog, including articles about workflow and tutorials to upgrade your skills.

Important: Read the guide to file formats and deliverables, how and why to link design submissions, and guide to submitting good designs.

During the review process, DesignCrowd's Quality Team will review a sample of your designs to ensure they adhere to our Design Quality Standards. The quality team will look at the design's relevance to the project brief, its execution and how aesthetically pleasing the design is, and how unique the design is.

During the review process you can continue to work on projects. Your designs are visible to contest holders and so is your portfolio in DesignCrowd's Designer Directory.

You will receive an email during the Quality Review if further information is needed and when it is completed. If our team identifies significant issues with your submissions, you will receive an email to confirm one of these outcomes:

  1. Passed with Warning - your portfolio contains a concerning level of generic / overused design concepts or stock images or stock elements that are too similar to other sites.
  2. Warning - for example, relying heavily on generic elements in your design submissions
  3. Suspended - Continual behavourial infringements despite warnings and consistent use of generic concepts or use of stock elements that prevents a customer from trademarking their logo design.
  4. Deactivation - your account is closed due to serious breach of our user agreement including copyright infringement or unprofessional and unacceptable behaviour to clients, DC admin and other designers.

Note: New registrants undergoing account verification can find more information in this FAQ entry: What is account verification and how do I have my account verified?
