Interesting idea. But NSW is not surrounded by water, Australia is. Thought this a logo for NSW? NSW has a desert, a tropical forest and a snow field, not sure if logo conveys that.

You've got some really cool type going there. The mark reminds me of merchant bank though. The mark might also be alienating to some of us, since many of us live inland and are not upper class. The working class is still celebrated to an fair exent here and a government that seems to be flaunting while people struggle may not be a good idea. Sorry to say, but theres some coldness or indifference to it. It's still an excellent mark but maybe not for this application or government, at least not at this economic time... I can definately picture it at a the harbour on the warf, near a cafe with a cool breeze....

This mark is very engaging and interesting. Its something that catches my eye when looking at the other logos from this contest. It is also one of my favorites.
